Fly-In Fly-Out is a hilarious and touching play about family and first love that shows how we strive to adapt when our world is changing around us.

Fly-In Fly-Out is part of a series of plays – the Spirit of Place trilogy. The plays – Snagged, Ithaca Road, and Fly-In Fly-Out – were produced through a partnership between debase and the Priority Country Area's Program (PCAP). They explore themes of place and belonging and were developed in consultation with communities in Central Queensland.

Fly-In Fly-Out is suitable for Years 10-12.

Content warning: two physicalised references to sex in a casually violent context. One instance of the word ‘slut’.

Snagged

Oxbrook is like so many country towns in Australia, everyone knows everyone else and most young people want to get out. Sam, the butcher’s daughter and closet vegetarian, is no different. She and her best mate Beth plan to head to Brisbane as soon possible; to start their new careers and to cut a swathe through Brisbane’s eligible bachelors.
